Oysters po boy and side of seafood gumbo. $25. The oyster po boy had about 6 oysters with tomato slices. Perfectly done oysters, not overcooked. The seafood gumbo side $8 was a big bowl with rice, bits of fish and shrimp and okra. Comes with a bun, very good soft bread. Great taste and a tiny spice kick, not too much. The jambalaya was 3 scoops of rice with sausage and chicken. Hugh portion. Great friendly service.

We had cajun crab fries and shrimp, catfish, and oyster. Yumm!!! The fried dishes were excellent with the sauces they provided, but the fries wasn't as creamy as I would liked. Perhaps more garlic aioli is needed. Overall experience was nice. The team helped us with decided between the popular dishes as well. It wasn't too busy inside, so there were enough seats to choose from. Perhaps around 20-30 people inside from the seating arrangements.

Soco Kitchen is such a staple of Castro Valley and I'm glad we have a decent restaurant in the area. I've never been a huge fan of the menu only because I'm not a fan of fried foods in general (because of bloating and stomach aches) but there are a few menu items that are decent if you're overall health conscious like me. Parking is limited & squishy here as it shares spots in a business plaza but there's usually space in the back or right out on the street so it's not too hard to find a spot. I do have to say their mac n cheese is some of the best I've had and I like to push my gluten sensitivity slightly and get the small size of this (which is enough for two people as is). Recently, I've discovered their SoCo house salad with southern fried chicken which is soooo good and doesn't make me feel bad on cheat days. The fried chicken is crispy and the walnuts and tomatoes with spring mix shaken together with one who dat sauce and two ranches (because their sauce cups are only half full) is the perfect combo. Again, not the biggest fan of this type of cuisine and how it affects my health & diet but there are a few gems that are worth coming and getting every so often!

I recently stopped by SCK and it didn't disappoint! The food was fresh and delicious and the service was super friendly and efficient! I had the crab fries, shrimp po boy sandwich and Brussels sprouts. 10 outta 10 for all! I'm so glad and grateful for this type of restaurant in Castro valley!

First time here. I made the wrong turn into the incorrect parking lot. There is limited seating and the place is cozy so I would not suggest seating a bigger group than 6, but pick up and catering is an option. I went a little crazy and picked a few too many things which included the seafood platter, the crawfish étouffée, crawfish, pasta, loaded crab fries, chicken sandwich with an extra side of fries, as well as lemonade and sweet tea. Everything was delicious, food was hot and made to order right in front of us. I will definitely come back.

Food: unfortunately I didn't like my food 3/5 :( I ordered the lil wheezy shrimp which is essentially shrimp that tastes like boneless buffalo wings on a bed of fries. The fries were good but I couldn't finish the shrimp. The tangy buffalo taste was too much for me and combined with the lemonade the acidity was overwhelming. However I did try my group's fried shrimp + catfish (3/5 kind of bland and flavorless) and the shrimp poboy (5/5 really good!) I also got the brown sugar lemonade and it was too sweet for my liking-- still good but maybe less brown sugar would have made it better. I would love to come back to try other menu items but it seems some are just a hit or miss. You order at a counter and find a table so it's pretty casual. Overall, it's a nice place and I'd like to come back to give it another chance but I don't recommend my dish.

Fast paced service and high quality fish. The door was open that day that we visited and our side was rainy , so the breeze was giving me chill. Please make sure your costumers are happy with everything.

Flew in to Oakland, had to head out to Modesto and was in the mood to grub. Ordered some blackened green beans, Mac and cheese, jambalaya and was not disappointed. Food came out quick and was piping hot. The flavors were there and the seasoning on the green beans was something else. The mac and cheese delivered. Place was busy and there was a little line but people there told me it was worth the wait. They weren't wrong. Can't wait to get back and try everything else. My eyes are on the gumbo and the crab fries next.
